Have you ever wanted to make pops at home with the kiddos? Now is your chance to make these Sparkly Tootsie Roll Surprise Pops. This was one of the first times I made surprise pops at home with the kids and I was shocked at how easy they were. I’ve been buying our own tootsie pops for years, but now I have a great recipe that can be used right at home. I think the best part of making these with the kids is that it was family time spent together.
Our schedules are so busy, it can be difficult to get together and make something homemade. These Sparkly Tootsie Roll Surprise Pops are adorable, but also taste delicious. No kid or adult for that matter is going to turn down these delicious surprise pops! Have fun making them together, but have even more fun eating them.

How To Make Sparkly Tootsie Roll Surprise Pops
Take 4 tootsie rolls out of their wrapper and mold them together using your hands. The warmth of your hands will make them mold sort of like playdough. I used four of the same flavor however, you can mix and match if you want a multi-colored look. Think unicorn pops. ?
Set your ball of tootsie roll down on a sheet of wax paper. Cover with a second sheet of wax paper then roll out the tootsie roll using a rolling pin.
Once rolled out evenly, use your cookie cutter (preferably a smaller one around an inch in size) and make two cutouts with it.
Using one of the cutouts, place a sucker stick in the middle of it and press it firmly down.
In the middle of the cutout with the sucker stick in it, place a little bit of candy. I used nerds but any smaller candies will work.
Place the secondary cutout over the top of the candy and use a fork (like you would a pie) and press down the edges so the two cutouts stick together.
If desired, sprinkle with edible glitter.
Note: If using a bigger cookie cutter, you will need to chill the pops afterward in order for them to not wilt. Be warned, that once they warm up, they will want to wilt so sticking to smaller cookie cutters is better.
