St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner. Are you someone who plans your meals based on the holiday? If you are, I have a real treat for you and it will cover dessert! Here is a Shamrock Cookies and Cream Milkshake recipe for you to enjoy!

Shamrock Cookies and Cream Milkshake Recipe

What You Need

Shamrock Cookies and Cream Milkshake Recipe

2 cups of Vanilla Ice-cream

1 cup of Whole Milk or Half and Half for a richer taste

ยผ teaspoon of Peppermint Extract

Few drops of Green Food Color

10 Oreo Cookies

ยผ cup of Whipped Topping like Cool Whip (optional)

Sprinkles, Green Sanding Sugar, Maraschino Cherries (optional)

How to make Shamrock Cookies and Cream Milkshake

Shamrock Cookies and Cream Milkshake Recipe

Place 8 Oreo Cookies in a Ziploc bag and bash it with a rolling pin or a heavy pan till its crushed. Take care not to completely turn into powder.

We want chunky pieces. Keep aside 2 tablespoons for garnish.

In a blender, combine ice cream, milk, peppermint extract and few drops of food coloring.

Blend together at high speed until smooth.

Divide the crushed Oreo into the two serving glasses.

Pour the milkshake and gently mix with a spoon.

Top each glass with a couple of tablespoons of whipped topping (optional) and tuck an Oreo on the side.

Decorate with the reserved crushed Oreos, green and white sprinkles, green sanding sugar or Maraschino cherries (optional).

Notes

  1. The amount of food coloring is a personal choice. For the cool minty green color in the photos, I added 8 drops of green food color.
  2. Do not add the crushed Oreos directly in the blender along with the ice-cream. The Oreos will dissolve in the shake and give it a slimy green color, which would be very not pretty.

    This looks delicious. I love minty shakes in the month of March. Now, I don’t have to buy them. I can make them instead. I love the addition of the chocolate cookies, too. Mint and chocolate are the perfect combination.
