Peppermint Chocolate Oreo’s Recipe

Nov 26, 2017 · 19 Comments

I love eating minty treats in the winter time. These Peppermint Chocolate Oreos are like the perfect winter dessert in my book. They’re super easy to make and are perfect for the holidays too.

Peppermint Chocolate Oreos

What You Need

1 package of Oreos
1 bag of Ghiradelli white chocolate melting wafers
1 tsp peppermint extract
1 tube of green cookie icing
1 tube of brown cookie icing
1 tube of red cookie icing
1 container of Wilton Christmas sprinkles with the yellow stars

How To Make Peppermint Chocolate Oreos

Line a cookie sheet with either wax paper or parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet.

Using a double boiler, melt the white chocolate. Stir occasionally to help it melt faster.

Once the white chocolate is melted, add the peppermint extract and mix.

Using a fork, dip in the oreo and flip the cookie over so that it is completely coated.

Using the fork, lift the cookie up and lightly tap on the side of the pot so that the excess chocolate can drip off.

Place the cookie on the cookie sheet to harden. Repeat the previous steps with the remaining cookies.

Once the cookies completely hardened, using the green icing, pipe the lines for your tree.

Using the brown icing, pipe a line on the bottom for the tree stump.

Using the red icing, pipe dots scattered on the tree. You’re making ornaments, so decorate accordingly!

Place a yellow star sprinkle on the tip of the tree’s top.

Wait 30 minutes to allow the icing to dry before enjoying!

These Peppermint Chocolate Oreos look like you spent hours decorating them when in reality it didn’t take you long at all! I love when I can “cheat” on decor for the holidays like this. Spending less time in the kitchen means I can spend more time enjoying my friends and family for the holidays, and no one ever regretted that.

These are so cute! I am not very creative so I am always jealous of the cute holiday snacks people make, but I think I could pull this off. I will have to give these a try.
