This Old Fashioned Banana bread will take you back to being a kid again and baking with that someone special. Your home will be filled with the wonderful smell of Banana Bread baking in the oven.
What You Need
- 2 Large Ripe Bananas
- 2 Eggs
- 1 ¼ Cup All Purpose Flour
- 1 Cup Sugar
- ½ Cup Softened Butter
- ½ Cup Chopped Walnuts (optional)
- 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

How to make Old Fashioned Banana Bread
In a large bowl, cream together your sugar, eggs, and butter.
Add your banana to the bowl and be sure to blend it well. Small chunks are no issue just be sure it is well mashed.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Place batter in a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

Tip: Want to make chocolate chip banana bread or pecan banana bread instead? No problem, simply remove the ½ cup of walnuts and replace it with ½ cup any other ingredient you would like to add and follow the steps as written.
Truth be told, my favorite part of this recipe is the 2 minutes after you pull it out of the oven. Warm Banana Bread with butter has always been a great treat.

I found this recipe and has been a staple ever since. With the cinnamon ( I use heaping tblsp)mine comes out nice and dark. Soo tasty. I also use either walnuts or pecans but I do add a sprinkle of choco chips or peanut butter/choco chips on top. My hubby calls it banana crack lol! All my neighbors love when they get a surprise loaf. Thanx for your grandmas recipe !
