Take a moment and walk back in time with me, won’t you? I remember when I was little and my Grandma visited us we would always bake. You name it, we baked it! To this day when she visits its become tradition. Now, however, it’s not just me that gets to enjoy it. My kids absolutely love it! Their list of things to bake is a mile long a week before she arrives.

Tip: Want to make chocolate chip banana bread or pecan banana bread instead? No problem, simply remove the ½ cup of walnuts and replace it with ½ cup any other ingredient you would like to add and follow the steps as written.

Truth be told, my favorite part of this recipe is the 2 minutes after you pull it out of the oven. Warm Banana Bread with butter has always been a great treat.

Do you have those fond memories of baking with your Grandmother orsomeone special? I would absolutely love to read about them if you will drop me a comment below.

I found this recipe and has been a staple ever since. With the cinnamon ( I use heaping tblsp)mine comes out nice and dark. Soo tasty. I also use either walnuts or pecans but I do add a sprinkle of choco chips or peanut butter/choco chips on top. My hubby calls it banana crack lol! All my neighbors love when they get a surprise loaf. Thanx for your grandmas recipe !
