No matter what kind of party you are planning, the process can become overwhelming. This is especially true for Kid’s Halloween parties. There are so many things to consider. Get Creative with the Invitations

Start the party off on the right foot by creating eye catching invitations. Making your own is the best way to create something specific to your party. Create the invitations to match your theme and make sure to include spooky hints as to what is to be expected at the Halloween party.

Have a Dress Code

Having a costume party on Halloween is so much fun. Use the invitations to request that your guests dress in their scariest costumes. You can even give prizes for the best costumes. Just be prepared, there may be people that forget to wear costumes. It is a good idea to have a small bin filled with silly hats, clown noses, scary masks and more so those who forget to get dressed up, can still get creative.

Create Spooky Decorations

One of the best parts of a Halloween party is the decorations. Decorate the outside of your house with spooky lanterns, fake spider webs and even plastic bag ghosts. Indoors, you can create spooky spiders on your walls by taping large black balloons to the walls, using crepe paper for the legs. No matter what you choose to decorate with, just get creative and use your imagination. The spookier the better.

Set the Mood

Setting the mood for your kid’s Halloween party is important. In combination with the decorations you choose, you can create a Halloween playlist to play in the background during your party. Just make sure the playlist is suitable for little ears. You can either compile a playlist of eerie sounds or play popular Halloween themed music like “Monster Mash.” Choose the playlist style that fits in best with your theme.

Make the Food Fun

It is important that you keep the food fun, yet simple at your kid’s Halloween party. Choose foods that are easy to prepare and serve. Things like pizza rolls, pretzels and vegetables and dip all work well. If you want to make your foods themed, get the kids involved. Have the little ones make their own pumpkins out of pizza by selecting pre-cut toppings to make a face. For dessert, serve up some chocolate pudding, covered in chocolate cookie crumbs, topped with gummy worms. The sky is the limit and the kids will have fun.

Plan Some Games

A party just isn’t a party without some fun games. Incorporate some fun, yet easy to plan games by racing plastic spiders across a finish line. This one is an easy game to plan as all you need are some small plastic spiders and large straws. The first person to blow their spider over the finish line wins.

If spiders aren’t your thing, you can host a mummy relay race. All you have to do is divide the kids into teams and see which team can wrap each other in toilet paper and run across the finish line first.

Looking for a quiet game after all that excitement, have the kids gather around a table to paint pumpkins. Simply provide each child with a small pumpkin and divide paint colours into muffin tins to keep the mess minimal. This gives each guest a cute decoration to bring home after the party.

When it comes to throwing the best kid’s Halloween party ever, these tips will help you get organized. Just remember to get creative and have fun!
