What type of apples should I use for this bread?
You can use your favorite type of apple to make this yummy recipe. I love Granny Smiths in this bread because the flavors compliment so nicely. However you can use any apple of your choice.
How many apples is two cups?
For two cups of chopped apples you need about three medium sized apples.
Do you have to refrigerate apple bread?
This bread will keep on the counter for up to two days, any longer than that I recommend storing it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I suggest warming it up before serving and topping with a thin layer of butter. YUM!

How do you make apple bread from scratch
Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a 5 X 9 loaf pan with cooking spray and parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Then in a large bowl cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. About 2-3 minutes. You can do this with a hand or stand mixer.
Next add in your eggs to the butter mixture and cream again. Once that is combined add in your lemon zest and lemon juice. This helps everything get mixed properly.
In another bowl sift together all the dry ingredients and then add them to the butter and egg mixture. Mix this until just combined. (Do not over beat.)
Once this is combined, gently fold in your apple pieces and place batter inside of the loaf pan.
Bake this for 40 – 45 minutes until a cake tester or toothpick comes out clean.
Enjoy with butter and a nice cup of coffee!
