You use it every morning but did you know that your toothpaste tube is great for so much more than just cleaning your teeth? Toothpaste has quite a few uses outside of the bathroom and the majority of people never realize it! For most of these toothpaste cleaning hacks, you will want to use a non-whitening regular toothpaste like the original Colgate or Crest. You can also find toothpaste at the Dollar Store and save a ton! It’s on my List of things to Always Buy at Dollar Tree.
These Toothpaste Cleaning Hacks are just a few, but they’re my favorite! Check them out and let me know what you think in the comments!
Toothpaste Cleaning Hacks
Clean sour baby bottles – Do your baby bottles smell like sour milk? If so, use a clean toothbrush to scrub them with a toothpaste/water mixture. Rinse very well and the smell should be gone!
Clean walls – Toothpaste is awesome for removing “Little Johnny’s” crayon masterpiece from your wall. Just put a small dollop of toothpaste onto a cleaning rag and wipe away! Be sure to test a small area of your wall first just in case the paint is too thin for even a mild abrasive like toothpaste to handle.
Clean white patio furniture – White patio furniture can get dirty and dingy after even just a few weeks’ outdoors. To clean, use a whitening toothpaste and water mixture and clean with a soft-bristled cleaning brush. Your outdoor swing will be sparkly as new in no time!
Emergency pimple cream – Have a pop-up zit? Dab a bit of toothpaste on it and let it sit for anywhere from a few hours to overnight. Rinse your face and the offending red spot should be gone! Add a moisturizing lotion to re-hydrate your skin and you’re good as gold!

Toothpaste soothes itchy bug bites – Mosquito bites are the worst, but your favorite non-whitening toothpaste can come to the rescue! Just dab a small amount on a bug bite or bee sting and you’ll have pretty much instant relief!
Keep your mirror fog free – Before you hop in the shower, rub your bathroom mirror down with toothpaste then wipe clean. It will keep it from fogging up during your shower!
Spot free sink fixtures – Toothpaste is excellent for keeping chrome fixtures spot free! Just use a rag or soft brush to spread the toothpaste then wipe clean. Ooooh! Shiny!
Remove scratches from DVD’s – Surface scratches can ruin a DVD, but lightly applying a small bit of toothpaste with a soft cloth can remove them. Be sure that you rub gently though so that you don’t scratch it even worse.
Water rings are gone! – If you have water rings on your kitchen or coffee tables, apply a small amount of toothpaste and gently rub in a circular motion over the ring. Wipe clean then use olive oil or furniture polish on the area afterward. The water ring will be gone and your table will look as good as new!
Minor scratches on your cars paint job – If your car has a minor scratch in the paint, you might be tempted to buy an expensive scratch remover. There’s no need to do that though since you can use toothpaste to fix it! Just rub a small amount of non-whitening, plain toothpaste onto the scratch with a damp sponge. Wipe off with a soft cloth and the scratch will be gone! Just don’t rub too hard or you’ll damage the paint even more.
