You will want to be sure to check the simmering potpourri often to keep the water level up. If all of the water evaporates in your pan and it is not replaced, the potpourri will burn. For safety please use the back burner of your stove to simmer the potpourri.

How to make this stovetop potpourri
Start by slicing the orange and apple into rounds.
Then place the sliced orange and apple to a medium pot or sauce pan.
Add in the cranberries, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
Pour in enough water into the pot to just almost cover the ingredients.
Heat the potpourri over low heat on a back burner.
Simmer on low heat for up to 3 hours, continue to add more water as the water gets low.
