Easy Plants to grow with your kids

When you’re teaching your children to garden, you’re looking to keep things as basic as possible. There are plenty of plants in the world that require a lot of attention and maintenance. This is not what you want to look for as first time gardeners. What you want is something that is going to be simple to grow, easy to harvest, and doesn’t require a lot of fuss.

Finding Easy Plants To Grow With Your Kids

It doesn’t take much looking to know what is easy, but if you want some guidance from a professional, I recommend heading to your local home and garden store. Sometimes it feels good to hear it from the people who deal with these plants every day. The added bonus is that you get to make this part of the experience. Take the kids along, let them browse along with you and learn.

If you’re not up to a trip to the store, never fear! I have a list of easy plants to grow with your kids right here, and I’m going to share.

Foods

There are two categories that gardens usually fall into, food or flowers. By now, you’ve likely decided whether you’re going with one or the other. Part of the charm of choosing to grow vegetables is getting to eat the fruits of your labor as they grow. The kids will be so proud of themselves as they contribute to your nightly meals, and eating super fresh produce is one of the greatest parts of gardening. If you’re looking to source your own veggies, try these easy plants to grow with your kids: Green beans, carrots, and tomatoes. Who knows, you may even be able to get them to eat their veggies without a fuss!

Flowers

If you’re not interested in growing food, but you still would like to look at a beautiful flower bed, don’t worry. Although there are a lot of temperamental flowers in the world, you’ll be able to find some easy plants to grow with your kids. Having all of the pretty colors and fragrant blooms in your garden is going to be glorious. Try these flowers to make a brilliant impression on the kids: pansies, sunflowers, and daffodils.

Easy Plants to grow with your kids

Once you’ve found some easy plants to grow with your kids, you’ll be able to get that garden flourishing in a flash! Get ready to spend your evenings out in the fresh air, watching the sunset with your family around you, having a great time. Cherish these moments while they last. Though it seems like you’ll have them with you forever, kids don’t stay kids for very long. Take the time out of your busy schedule to do this project with them. Even if nothing grows in your garden, you’ll all be growing together. What’s your favorite plant to grow?

As per my experience, flowers grow faster than food plants. I usually plant flowers in the garden with my kids. It usually take a couple of weeks to get them blossomed. My kids become happy when they see the result of their hard work.
