Recently, my kids have really been into doing various discovery activities. I got the idea for this DIY Treasure Rocks Activity to help their curiosity. I have a lot of fun activities planned for us this summer, but this has to be one of the most fun. You’ll love how inexpensive this activity is too. A lot of the ingredients are probably something you have right in your own cabinets.
As you know, when it rains and the kids are bored, I love to have different crafts and activities for them on hand. With having four kids and a variety of ages, it’s important to have something that everyone can do. Have fun watching the kids dig into their treasure rocks. You can also dig in! This DIY Treasure Rocks Activity is going to be something your kids talk about for years to come!

Set the treasure rocks on a baking sheet and let dry for 24-48 hours. They will dry faster if you set them out in the sun.
Pour vinegar into a squeeze bottle.
Put a treasure rock into a dish and spray or pour vinegar slowly over it and watch it foam up as the baking soda starts to melt. Kids will love the little treasure they find inside!

This would be a nice activity for the little ones. I will recommend this to my friend who is a kindergarten teacher. She could add this to her lesson/activity plan for her little students this school year.

This would make a nice game for a kid’s birthday party. The kids get to keep the tokens hidden in each treasure rock. I will suggest this to my cousin. Her daughter will be turning 5 this month.
