How to make DIY Space Themed Telescope for Kids

DIY Space Themed Telescope for Kids

Begin by removing the labels on the outside of your bottle. You can use any recycled bottle or another container you have around the house, but we chose to use a Downy Unstoppables container because it had a fun shape.

Cut the lid off your container. Use scissors to cut the bottom off of your recycled container.

Dip a sponge into black craft paint, and dab the paint all over the outside of your bottle. You might have to let the paint dry and then do a second coat until you get the coverage you want. We liked that it left a little blank space uncovered by the paint, it made it look more like a night sky.

Before the paint dries, hold the bottle over a garbage can, and sprinkle on just a bit of glitter. This step is optional, but it gives your bottle a fun look. Be careful not to put on too much glitter, or you will have a hard time getting your stickers to stick to the bottle.

Once the glue has dried, begin covering the outside of your bottle with space-themed stickers. If the glitter is not allowing the stickers to adhere to the bottle, just brush some of it off carefully.
