I seriously have tried everything to clean my front loading washing machine – every cleaning product and scrubbing. This simple trick will get rid of the mold and dirt build up on your front loader.

Front loading washers seem to be a popular consumer pick. They can get dirty and gross though, which had me wondering what I could do to clean it. I have tried store bought products, natural products, and more with no luck. They say leaving the door to your machine open will prevent mold growth.

I will spare you the before pictures because they are gross and this thing was black and full of dirt and mold build up. Honestly I am grossed out this is how we have been washing our clothes. This is easy cleaning hack requires no scrubbing and little effort  – it will blow your mind!

Supplies needed to clean washing machine

  • Bleach
  • Water
  • Bucket
  • Paper Towels
  • Binder Clips (optional)

How to clean the detergent tray

This is pretty simple to clean, I recommend popping it out and then soaking it in the bleach and water mixture that you will be making below. Also wipe down the inside of the compartment too.

How to remove mold from a front load washing machine

Mix together a solution of 3/4 cup bleach and 1 gallon of water.

Soak paper towels in the bleach + water solution.

Then cover the dirty parts of the rubber ring on your washing machine with the paper towels soaked in the solution. Use a binder clip to keep the towels in place if necessary.

Let it set for 3-4 hours and then remove, and surprise all the dirt and mold growth will be gone.

Lastly put 1 cup of bleach in your machine and run it on the clean washer setting.

What You Need

  • bleach
  • water
  • bucket
  • paper towels
  • binder clips optional

Directions

    When you say on the last step to put bleach on the machine do you mean on the drum or on the drawer where it says bleach?

    you reversed the door on your washer, but you didn’t rotate the internal glass – your washer probably isn’t working as well as it should

    I clean my front load and washer With disinfectant Wipes as soon as I finish the one load And also the front glass
