My kids love to make things. Crafts, food, anything. Their imaginations run wild and I love that they get creative and each craft they do is so unique. There is really no right or wrong way to decorate these cupcakes so let their creative minds run free.

How to make Galaxy Cupcakes

 Galaxy Cupcakes

Make your cupcakes using the directions on the box. Use the black color to tint the chocolate frosting black. Color about ½ cup of the white frosting purple.

Galaxy Cupcakes

Frost all the cupcakes black and use the purple frosting to make swirls around on top the black frosting.

Put one large yellow gumball on each cupcake to resemble the sun.

Put 4 or 5 small gumballs or candies to resemble planets, make sure you use different colors, so they look like different planets. An optional step I did was to use a short piece of red rope licorice to wrap around a small gumball to look like Saturn.

Galaxy Cupcakes

Sprinkle the little stars and tiny white rocks around on each cupcake to look like stars and meteors.

Enjoy these fun galaxy cupcakes!

How absolutely amazing are those cupcakes! They are so detailed it would almost be a shame to eat one (though of course only almost as I would need to test the flavour).
